Learnership

Structured learning plus real workplace hours

A learnership only works when the classroom and the workplace agree on what competence looks like. This framework puts both on the same evidence record.

How it works

Phase 1 — Foundations

6 weeks

Studio safety, floor discipline, roles and the signal chain. Delivered fully in the virtual labs so nobody is blocked by gear access.

Phase 2 — Discipline rotation

12 weeks

Rotate through camera, lighting, sound, vision mixing and graphics. Every rotation produces one logbook-signed deliverable.

Phase 3 — Workplace hours

16 weeks

Placed with a host employer. The supervisor verifies hours in the platform; entries lock once signed.

Phase 4 — Summative evidence

4 weeks

Portfolio compiled and indexed, practical assessment scored against the published rubric, final assessment written.

For learners

What you commit to

Attendance, honest logbook entries, and submitting evidence on time. Fabricated hours void the credential.

What you get

A verified hours record by role, a mentor-reviewed portfolio, and a signed credential you can share with a public verification link.

For institutions and training providers

Delivery

Run contact sessions on your own timetable; the platform carries the theory, quizzes and lab drills between sessions.

Oversight

Mentors see every submission, rubric score and pending sign-off in one queue, with an audit trail of who judged what and when.

For host employers

Low admin

Your supervisor verifies or returns a logbook entry in two clicks. No paperwork to collect at month end.

Placement fit

Before you take a learner, look at their verified hours per role so you know what they can already be trusted with on a live production.

Quality framework

  • Published rubrics. Learners see the criteria before they submit.
  • Separation of duties. The person who teaches a session is not the only person who can sign off its evidence.
  • Immutable sign-off. A verified logbook entry cannot be edited by the learner.
  • Moderation. Assessors are checked against a benchmark set before they gain sign-off authority.
  • Appeals. A returned submission always carries a written reason and a route to re-submit.

What this is not

TV Studio Path is not an accredited education provider and this framework is not a national learnership registration. It is a delivery and evidence model that an accredited provider can run alongside their own quality processes. See the certification tracks for what the platform itself issues.
